Ive seen many articles, even books written about the topic What if Buddha Dated?, so I decided to write one called What if Buddha Invested? Given the non-attachment to materialism that Buddhism preaches, it may be strange to think that Buddhist principles can lead to better principles of wealth building, but selflessness and a detachment from the emotional aspect of building wealth, particularly the emotion of greed, can markedly improve ones ability to build wealth.

If Buddha Was a Stock Picker

Approaching relationships with a Buddhist mentality, one would not enter a relationship by assigning false hopes or characteristics of glowing positivity to a potential partner that one was just getting to know. Furthermore, one would not become excessively attached to your partner, feeling a compulsive need to call or text message him or her every single hour of the waking day. If Buddha invested, he would also apply these same principles to choosing stocks. He would not assign numerous positive qualities to a stock from a single glowing TV report or newspaper article without truly digging deep to confirm that such a positive view was well justified. Furthermore, Buddha would never become enamored with a stock and hold on to a stock if it lost 25% of its value, convinced that it would come back. Instead Buddha, due to his credo of non-attachment to material things, would set the stock free and let it go once it had reached a certain stop-loss limit.

If Buddha Searched for a Financial Consultant

The Dalai Lama says, “If you want to be wisely selfish, care for others.” In martial arts, my first instructor, Sensei Dukes, told me that he could teach me to lose all fear, even fear of dying. He told me that all fear was rooted in ego, and that if you learn to let go of ego, all fear disappears. In relationships, all jealousy originates from ego. On the other hand, happiness originates out of selflessness. If Buddha were to invest and turn his money over to a financial consultant, Buddha no doubt would eliminate all persons that he even suspected of suffering from the vice of greed. If Buddha suspected that a consultant would fully invest all of his money when dollar cost averaging into the market would make more sense due to uncertain market conditions, Buddha would eliminate this person from consideration.

If Buddha heard a financial consultant brag about himself or herself as the best, the smartest, the one that manages the most money in his or her office, he would eliminate this person from consideration as well, realizing that such an extreme ego would lead to selfish decisions that were not in his best interest. If Buddha believed that the financial consultant was not selfless, but instead a company man or woman that would tow the company line to satisfy his or her boss rather than make the best possible decision for his investments, Buddha would also eliminate this person from consideration.

In fact, Buddha would probably ask the financial consultant is he or she was invested in the exact same assets that he or she was recommending for him. If the answer was no, Buddha would be skeptical. If the answer was yes, Buddha wouldnt necessarily be convinced that he had found a winner, but it would be a start.

If Buddha Ran an Investment Firm

But lets return to the concept of non-attachment for a second. Non-attachment in communication manifests itself in honesty. During conflict resolution, an adherence to non attachment manifests itself in the deliverance of I statements rather than accusatory statements. Two of the main selling strategies of investment firms is utilizing the powerful emotions of fear and greed.

Fear is utilized by selling people on the fact that diversification is the best risk-reward setup for you the client. In reality, diversification is the lowest common denominator strategy that allows all firm consultants to allocate your money in the least amount of time to produce mediocre returns just good enough so you wont leave but yet free up the most time for consultants to gather more assets for the firm.

Firms further utilize fear when “selling” clients on the necessity of diversification by leading clients to believe that more highly concentrated positions in fewer asset classes or fewer countries exposes clients to higher risk and thus higher possibilities of losses. Again, this is not true. More highly concentrated positions in fewer asset classes and fewer asset classes will lead to much greater returns if performed thoughtfully and with insight. However, this process requires time, and time is a commodity that acts as the enemy when the goal is to maximize the amount of assets gathered and thus, the amount of fees that can be charged. What reduces the amount of time needed to allocate your portfolio, but also returns? The theory of diversification. If Buddha ran an investment firm, he would never use the fear-driven Modern Portfolio Theory of diversification to manage a single clients assets.

Greed is utilized by convincing clients to place their money in higher risk but higher-commission or higher-fee products with the hope of quick, easy returns. If Buddha ran an investment firm, he would invest in the exact same assets that he would purchase for his clients.

If Buddha Wanted to Build Wealth

If Buddha dated, Buddha would probably not subscribe to the Jerry Maguire mantra of you complete me. Instead, just as every martial artist knows that only he or she can defeat him or herself, Buddha would probably work on improving himself first, knowing that such self-improvement would attract the perfect partner and save him many hours or years of searching. Likewise, if Buddha was an investor, he would no doubt desire to learn to invest himself instead of just handing his hard-earned millions over to a financial consultant, the overwhelming majority that have their selfish interests at heart versus the interests of the investor.

Buddha the investor would realize that there is no easy-way to build wealth, and that the easy path to investing, i.e. handing your money over to someone else, is often the path that will cause the most mistakes and grief. After all, if that average financial consultant has at a minimum, 100 clients, how many hours of personalized attention can your portfolio possibly receive? Buddha would realize that with a million dollar account, if managing his own account would yield $150,000 more a year than handing it to someone else, and that the effort required to do so would be one hour per day, or 260 hours a year, that this time commitment would be tiny on the effort-reward scale. Unless Buddhas job paid him more than $576 an hour, the effort required for self-improvement in the investment knowledge arena would most definitely be worth the returns and rewards.

Many-a-times diabetes is detected among expecting mothers during the period of their pregnancy. Such cases of diabetes can occur at any time or duration of the pregnancy. But to their despite, this type of diabetes is temporary in nature. And it is referred to as gestation diabetes.

The course of treatment for this kind of diabetes is similar to that of Type II diabetes. These patients are advised to keep check on their weight and remain active during pregnancy, provided there are no other complications alongside. It is most likely that the blood sugar levels that have risen at this stage will be brought under control.

Though such form of diabetes may occur during pregnancy among some women, there are certain groups of mothers who are more likely to be victims of this disease. If there is a family history in the direct line of the mother then the chances of having diabetes of this kind is more. The parents, grandparents and next of kin, like uncles and aunts, siblings are the ones whose health record comes up for scrutiny in this case. Thus , if the mothers grandparents or any of her parents or any of her uncles and aunts who are in her direct blood line are patients of Diabetes I then she is considered as having a family history of diabetes.

Besides the family line of the mother there are other indicators about the likelihood of the occurrence of diabetes in a pregnant mother. If the mother has conceived at a late age, particularly after she is 45 years of age or more, the likelihood of the disease is higher. An otherwise younger person who is obese, and consequently overweight, has the perfect figure to become a prey to this occurrence.

Women bearing babies weighing more than nine pounds should be vigilant about diabetes. If there is high blood pressure during this period or there are high levels of triglycerides, or high blood cholesterol levels in the mothers blood, then chances of having diabetes increase.

As for other forms of diabetes, the way to keep diabetes in check is to follow a controlled lifestyle with appropriate changes thereof. Partaking healthy diet and regular exercise can do wonders for mothers-to-be detected with gestation diabetes.

Yes, just two simple letters to represent their site, but to type it in, is just like second nature to me because it is so simple.

Another important part is to watch how you spell words for your domain. Yes it may sound like one word, but people may here it as something else. Allot of people like using “Nex” or “Nx” because it sounds like the word “Next”, but when you say to someone “go to my website at NexInformation.com”(just an example site) do they really go to your site or NextInformation.com(not the extra “T”), totalling missing your site all together because of one letter. This also happens even if they see it in plain view, as we all have mistyped a domain name before.

Also make sure your domain name says what your company does or is your company name. If people can connect the domain with your business, then you are already one step ahead.

Okay, I admit it. I was wrong. A couple of weeks ago I claimed it was a self-evident truth that U2 had surpassed The Beatles as the greatest musical group in history. Given the amount of vitriolic feedback I received, you would have thought I had promoted Hitler as the ideal ScreamFree Leader.

So to all of you, I admit it. I was wrong and you were right. The Beatles are the greatest group of all time.

And heres how I came to my senses. First of all, my wife, Jenny, threatened to leave me unless I recanted. Anyone whos seen her Fab-Four poster-laden high school classroom knows shes a Beatles fanatic. I explained to her that such a threat wasnt very indicative of a ScreamFree Marriage, and she then asked me if I would be interested in a SexFree Marriage. I told Jenny that such an arrangement would actually be her loss. She looked at me with that Jennifer Grey in Ferris Bueller-kind of youve got to be joking look.

Secondly, I remembered a relatively underplayed Beatles classic from their monumental Sgt. Peppers album. One of my points about U2 was the poignancy of their lyrics. But in Shes Leaving Home, The Beatles demonstrated that in addition to their silly love songs and psychedelia, they could write some of the most truthful, touching lyrics ever composed.

Especially when they agree with me.

The song tells the story of a young woman bravely deciding that its finally time to venture out on her own. That she has to do so by awaking earlier than her parents, and merely leaving them a good-bye note, tells us all we need to know about the nature of their relationship.

Wednesday morning at five o’clock, as the day begins
Silently closing her bedroom door
Leaving the note that she hoped would say more
She goes downstairs to the kitchen clutching her handkerchief
Quietly turning the backdoor key
Stepping outsideshe is free

Some of you may be taking your kids off to college this month. Maybe some of you will be taking your kids to kindergarten for the first time. And youve probably been in planning mode for this departure, probably even looking forward to it. For the family in the song, however, this was not a planned launching of a daughter into her own life; this was a daughters desperate escape. Escape from what? we are led to ask. Was she being abused in some way? Continually exposed to drugs? Caught in the middle of a horrible divorce?

Nope. From the parents reaction we get the picture that this was, by all outside accounts, the ideal family. This was a couple completely devoted to their daughter, completely devoted to sacrificing their lives in order to provide one for her. Notice their reactions in the parentheses of the chorus:

She (We gave her most of our lives)
Is leaving (Sacrificed most of our lives)
Home (We gave her everything money could buy)
She’s leaving home after living alone
For so many years (Bye bye)

From these few lines we begin to get the picture. This was a parenting duo struggling to follow the new parenting model that began to emerge in the 1950s. In a radical overreaction to the kids are to be seen and not heard model, parents in the 50s & 60s began to orbit their whole lives around their children, seeking to provide them the best life possible. And in the newfound wealth of the post-WWII West, these parents began to define the best life possible as one filled with material gain.

Never mind the inherent difficulties in making ourselves happy with possessions, all of us parents still fall into the folly of trying to buy our kids a new life. Just looking at our Christmas budget makes me want to go to confession. But we fail to realize that by pursuing this route, we are usually attempting to purchase more than our kids happiness. Were also trying to buy their loyalty. Even at the cost of any true relationship that would prevent any of our children from feeling truly alone.

Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown
Picks up the letter that’s lying there
Standing alone at the top of the stairs
She breaks down and cries to her husband “Daddy our baby’s gone!
Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly?
How could she do this to me?”

There is so much information contained in these few lines. First of all, Im always concerned when I hear couples referring to each other as Momma or Daddy. So often we see this in cute older couples who cannot even remember when they stopped calling each other by their names. But what does it say about me when my wife ceases to call me Hal and only refers to me by my parental identity? Now that were parents, is that now the primary basis for our relationship? Unfortunately, for many, many couples, the answer is a resounding yes. And if so, it makes perfect sense that seeing their baby leave home is so terrifying. If we dont have our baby with us, then what do we do with ourselves? Whats my identity now? Whats the basis of our relationship now? How could she do this to me?

As if she owed it to them.

Whenever our children begin to exercise their own minds, and lead their own lives, we often take it personally. You dont want to play baseball this year? But weve worked so hard! How can you sit there and complain? You have so much more stuff than I ever did as a kid! You should feel grateful. Your mother and I have decided that if you insist on seeing him, we cannot continue to pay for your college.

The irony is that until our kids show this kind of disloyalty, we think of ourselves as purely selfless, never thinking of ourselves, but only of our children.

The greatest thing we can do for our kids is learn to focus on ourselves. Thats the first line of ScreamFree Parenting, and it is meant to directly confront the prevailing misconception about parenting. Namely, that in order to be great parents, we have to lose our lives in the process. And our kids will be better off for it. And they will (or should) be grateful.

By learning to focus on ourselves, however, for the benefit of our family, we take our gaze off of them and thus free them up to explore their own way. And we can actually be available to them, without needing them to be available to us.

Friday morning at nine o’clock she is far away

Meeting a man from the motor trade

Here we get a window here into the young womans bravery. Without her parents help, or even their knowledge, she has arranged for a job interview. Now selling cars is probably not her parents idea of a good job, but shes doing it on her own. And its that individual spirit that will carry her further than any help from her parents (which would obviously have strings attached).

Remember when your three-year-old daughter dressed herself for the first time? You were a little nervous wondering what she was doing in her room for such a long time. And just when you were about to go up and check on her, she came bounding out with a totally mismatched outfit, putting together colors and patterns that wouldve been embarrassing even for a golfer in the 1970s.

And yet she was beaming.

She was beaming with pride because she was beginning to flap her wings; she was exercising her own free will, and it felt brilliant. And yet, you felt torn. You perhaps marveled at her burgeoning growth, but you couldnt stand the idea of going out in public with a daughter dressed like a carpet swatch catalog. What would all the people think of you as a parent?

Somehow I dont think either of the parents in this song would have felt torn at all. They would have forced the child to change into the new matching clothes they had just bought. And then wondered why their little girl didnt want to wear them.

And thats perhaps the worst tragedy of the overloyal families. The parents have no ability to focus on themselves because they have always lived for someone else. Since they are confident that this is the right thing to do, their entire focus is now on how well the kids respond.

Fun (Fun is the one thing that money can’t buy)
Something inside that was always denied
For so many years (Bye bye)

For me, the hallmark of a great, healthy family is their ability to be playful together. This not only includes playing actual games, but more importantly, playing with each others words. A family that is able to be sarcastic with one another, even about serious matters like their feelings toward one another, is a family that is able to be resilient when matters actually do get serious. This means gently ribbing one another about peculiar tastes, or generously laughing at your own foibles and freeing everyone else to do the same. This means enjoying an expansive room to experiment with new preferences, new activities, and new pursuits. This, I believe is the fun referred to in the lyric above.

In a family focused around the kids, that family inevitably becomes far too serious. The parents become far more concerned about the kids doing the right thing than exploring life and learning along the way.

Ever since our kids left the womb, theyve been leaving us. Little by little, our children have been growing up and going away. First steps, first day of school, first period, first kiss, first broken heart, first car accident, first dorm, first job. This is what they were born to doleave us. So that when they first become parents, theyll get a new, but related job. They will get to help their kids leave them. Now, thats our job.

With more than two Billion in existence, and thousands being created everyday, you may have to shout a little louder than everyone else to get your page to be noticed.

As I was saying on my sales page, people (Search Engine Optimization Companies) charge you tons of money to promise you that your page will increase in traffic because of their services. However more than often their slimy techniques annoy potential visitors and get you removed from search engines.

What Im about to show you is exactly what they would do for you. You can do this job yourself and in some instances even better without them.

When prospective visitors go to a search engine to find information, they type a few identifying keywords that describe what theyre looking for. The more those words are reflected on your page, the better your chances are that your page will appear in a search engines result.

So itll be a good idea that before you start writing your page to consider:
What your page is about
What are some good keywords
How to use those words consistently in your page

Believe it or not there are some free tools out there that will allow you to search what are some good keywords associated with other words. Use these tools to help figure out what are good keywords to include in your webpage.

Ensure also the following:

Once you have carefully used keywords and added meta tags, youll want to invite a search engine to visit your site in order to add your pages to its database.

1. To do so, just connect to the search engine of your choice, find the add URL link, or Submit your site link and follow the instruction.

Way 2 - Submit simple articles that include links to your website

People ten to read something, especially if they can get it free! So you can use that to your advantage.

The answer is quite simply to create a very simple report or an article related to the subject matter of your website. In the article you insert the following:

1. Write something that will capture their interest almost immediately.

2. Offer them something for free for clicking over to your site. (Maybe a free report or how to do something) Anything to get them to click over to your site
3. Of course your site information and maybe your contact information.
a. Put your telephone number. People wont call, but if they see your number, then they tend to see you as a real person and can back up what youre saying by putting down your contact info.
b. Put your email down. Tell me, if you saw Michael@PrivateAtmMachine.com or Michael@yahoo.com, which one would, you tend to associate with a real company? Id say the first one. Its very easy to get an email such as that one. All you do is go sign up for a domain name that will give you an email name with your domain extension, but will forward all your emails to your regular address.
A perfect example is using Yahoo Domain services. More than often Yahoo offers their users to sign up for Domain name for just $1.99/yr. If its not on the home page of if its being advertised for $9.99/yr, search for it.

Youll find it somewhere I guarantee unless they just straight out stopped that special. You must have a yahoo user name

Way 3 - Use Online Auction Features

Im going to share something with you that other people are being charged as much as $200 to find out. You can generate traffic to your website if you are running auctions.

I promised that Ill show you FREE ways to get traffic to your website. Im not telling you to go and create auctions. No! But if you are auctioning off something or think this is a great way for you to get traffic, then make an investment.

Whenever Ive raised traffic by this means, it only cost me $0.85 to start an auction on eBay.

But lets go more into how you can build traffic through your auction.

If youve used eBay before, and chances are you have, they you have an About Me Page just sitting there. Maybe youre using it; maybe youre not! May I tell you that you have to start using it to raise traffic to you site.

Heres how it works!!
Depending on what you auction off, you get Hits to your auction listing. Ive seen people get as much as 560 Hits. What does that mean? So What?

Well, you can turn those Hits into Traffic. Just imagine if your website were to get 560 Hits in 7 Days (full length of your auction). Now to assume that everyone of those hits were to click over to your site would be a bit presumptuous, nonetheless, if you would get just a quarter of that, then thats a high number of Hits still for free that you would have waisted anyway if you didnt know what Im about to show you!

So now the question is How do I get those Hits to my site?

If you have the money and only if you do, Id suggest buying the Silent Sales Machine hiding on eBay where Jim goes in much detail about using eBay to get free Traffic. The one thing that these have in common is that they allow people from around the globe to network with any and anybody. While people see this as being bad due to fraudulent activities, this has proven to be worthwhile really.

Lets take Myspace for example. What Ive been able to do is setup a free account where I put up pictures of my ebook that Im selling. But I dont try to sell my ebook there. What I do is offer any one who has visits my profile a free demo or that free article that we talked about earlier on.

With giving them a free article, I do my best to ensure that they like it and that they click over to my website. I outline the main points of my ebook and even more importantly how having my book will benefit them.

If it turns out that people like it, it will spread like wild fire.

Way 5 - Other Miscellaneous means on the WEB

Im sure youve done some searches on the web for FREE Traffic. If you havent then Ill go over some worthwhile means to get Traffic to your site for FREE using these means.

First of all, lets talk about auto surf programs. If you do a search for auto surf programs youll soon begin to realize that they PAY you to surf programs. But dont fall for that catch. Theres a clause in that:

They want you to invest a certain amount of money. To get paid youll have to surf so many sites in one day, earning you money everyday. But youre not guaranteed to be paid when the time for payout arrives. I got caught trying this out and boy was I STUPID for doing this!

But on the flip side these auto surf programs can prove to be useful. These auto surf programs allow you to create a free account surfing a daily number of sites on an auto-surfer rotator and in return you get credits. You can then use those credits for your site to placed on the auto surf rotator that the previous sites you viewed were placed on.
