Why Building a List is Important to your Online Business Part II

A third is to slowly build a list of people that have expressed an interest in what you have to offer, but are not yet ready to buy. However, you can keep in touch, and when they are ready, then your product is there in front of them. They have already seen your product about seven times, and might now be ready to buy.

Thats why building a list is so important. You can keep in touch with people who have visited your site rather than allowing them to leave and never return. This is important if you are selling products since it has been established that most sales have been made after seven to eight exposures to a product. Thats how TV advertising works: enough exposure and then you feel like purchasing a product because you think that you know it.

If you feel familiar with a product, you are more likely to purchase it than one that is new to you. Constant exposure makes you familiar with it. If you expose your list to your product enough times, the time will come that want to buy such a product, and they will be more likely to purchase yours due to their awareness and familiarity with it. However, that is not the only reason.

Another reason for building a list is that it is not only valuable to you but to other people. If you want to get involved in joint ventures, for example, a list is good for bargaining with. Joint ventures are one of the most productive ways of making money, and if fact probably, THE most productive way to make money online. If you have a good list that is focused on your niche, then you are in a good position to enter into a joint venture whereby you sell anothers product for a cut of the sale, and they will also do the same for you.

Without a list you have nothing but the traffic that you have at this moment. Once they leave your website they are gone forever. With a list, that is only the beginning, not the end of their involvement with your website, and you can contact them whenever you want to and whenever you have a special offer to make or a new product to sell.

Therefore, if you are serious about building an online business you should keep in mind that your prospective customers will likely need to see your product several times before being conditioned to purchase it. How do you intend to achieve that? That is the question that was considered by the first person who invented the opt-in page. We all know what the answer was.

So learn from history. If a strategy has developed over time in internet marketing history, it was developed for a reason. We now know that list building works, and that is why list building is important to your online business. Fail to build a list and you will more than likely fail in your quest to make money.

How To Build A Profitable Email List

Email marketing is still the most cost effective way to build your online business, and the best way to succeed with email marketing is to have your own quality mailing list.

An opt in email list contains addresses of people who have agreed to receive information from you, whether that be a newsletter or promotions relating to your online business. It is very important that you get peoples permission first before sending them any information. If you are accused of spam then your ISP may cancel your account.

Building a profitable email list takes a lot of persistence and patience, but it is possible. More importantly a permission based email list can bring you much better results then a purchased one. Why? Because a permission based email list

consists of people that you know are interested in what you are offering. Who knows what the people on a purchased list are interested in.

Your mailing list can consist of current customers, old customers, potential customers, prospects and new leads.

How can you get started?

- The single most important thing that you can do to build your list is to have a sign up form on your website. If not, then you are missing out on an easy way to grow your list. Not only should you put the form on your home page, but put it on every page you have as well. Do it now! Go to GetResponse and get set up as soon as possible.

- Any form at all on your website should ask for permission for you to send out future mailings. If someone downloads one of your ebooks make sure you ask for their email address so you can send them updates. You get the idea.

- One way to build your email list is to use classified advertising. Classified ads work very well for finding new prospects. Offer a free report or article relating to your topic of interest. Classified ads work great when you use such lines as: write for further information, free report or software, etc. Be creative in your ads and have fun as you build your email list.

- Partner with other websites that are similar to your own. Ask to exchange links or banner ads for your newsletter, or see if they could add your newsletter to their opt in form.

- Contact other email marketers who already own a list and advertise your newsletter or website in their newsletters. You can also inquire about solo ads. Solo ads are a good way to promote your newsletter because your ad is sent out solo to all the addresses on a list.

- Viral marketing is a good way to generate interest in your newsletter and help to build your email list. Always include a forward to a friend link in every one of your newsletters as well as a sign up link for those new readers.

- The truth is that once your subscribers believe and trust in you then they will buy from you. You can build this trust by publishing articles relating to your websites content. Use your resource box or author bio to advertise your newsletter.

- Put together a forum or discussion group on your website to find out what your customers wants may be and then target those wants.

- Join other forums and provide recommendations and expert advice to help build your reputation.

- Make friends with someone who has a successful email list. Experience is the best teacher.

Every successful business should have a mailing list, but failing to communicate with your list could mean losing the most valuable asset of your business.

The key to Internet success is to get your business noticed and one of the most effective ways to do this is by building an opt in email list.

If you are still not sure of the importance of building your own targeted opt in email list then here are a few more tips that you may find useful.

1. Determine your target market. It will be much more difficult to build your list if you do not have a particular market in mind. Having a target market will also allow you to focus more on your campaigns which will give you better results since you are directing your emails to those who

2. Your target market should be widely available on the Internet. How can you promote your online business if no one is interested? Research your market and avoid wasting any time.

3. Use the search engines to verify your target markets income producing potential. Search for ads that contain keywords relating to your interest and if you find many then you know that if people are willing to pay for advertising relating to your market then chances are good that you picked a winner.

It takes alot of preparation and effort to build a profitable email list and it does not happen overnight. They are built one email address at a time. As your list gets bigger it is important to maintain the quality of your list. Keep it clean and organized. Most of all, make sure your subscribers are satisfied and if they are, then they will make sure you are too.

List Building - How to Structure the Rest of Your Web Site II

If you are going to really make money, you have to have something of the same attitude. I realize that you might have a web site that is already set up and performing well without squeeze pages. I challenge you to evaluate the revenue per visitor of those pages, then set up a test web site or web page with only a squeeze page, and evaluate the revenue per visitor using the squeeze page method alone.

Now that my main web site has achieved (through no real effort of my own except through article marketing), I have added SEO to my traffic mix, and therefore I obviously have to have pages that are designed to be spidered and featured by the search engines. The way I do that is to create article pages and linking them to an single web page that I have indexed by the search engines. The search engines know that page exists, and they know the other pages exist, but they would be pretty difficult for anyone to get to unless they were directed by a search engine.

And, you guessed it those pages are still basically squeeze pages.

Now, because I anticipate that the majority of visitors to those pages come to them via the search engines, I feel they need more information than a referred visitor needs, so I write an article to put on the web page, then at the bottom, I put a web form. So again, it is basically a squeeze page, although the formula for creating is somewhat different.

Not having a niche is a great mistake in list building. This is because it is much more possible to sell the list, without any classification in your demographics. List Building Basics For a Strong List Building Foundation

I am going to make a really bold statement here. List building is really easy. Thats right list building is really easy.

I think that people try to make it more complex than it needs to be. They try to add steps that dont need to be there.

I think that people do that because it gives them an excuse if it doesnt work but the truth is that if you do not keep it simple it will probably not work. And if it does you will probably not know why it works. And that is bad, because you cannot duplicate something you have no idea how it works.

So this is my really simple version of how to build a list. And this is really all you need to do; this is all I do.

You may be thinking really? Yes, this is how I do it this is how I list build.

1) Decide on a niche (in my case, I have already done this, so I dont keep doing it).

2) Create a free giveaway information product (preferably an 8-10 page pdf).

3) Create a one page squeeze page to giveaway your free product on, and use it to opt people into your list.

4) Send traffic to your squeeze page.

OK folks, that is it.

The only other things I do is in #4 I drive A LOT of traffic. A lot. I cannot stress that enough. And I have an email campaign written. That is something you can do one email at a time. Do not feel like you have to have everything perfect before you start building your list.

List Building - Why You Have to Build a List Online or Die

List building has almost become necessary to compete online today. You see, you just cannot count on people getting to your web site through the search engines consistently. Unless you are buying traffic, you simply cannot even make it. And then it is hard to monetize on the first visit to your web site but with a list, you can leverage your traffic, getting repeat visit after repeat visitor out of each hit.

The difference today versus a few years ago, is that then pages loaded slowly, and the surfer would check out a few, and then get tired of surfing so they would buy. Now they can literally look at 100 sales pages in half an hour. Now think about this: when the web shopper has decided that there are too many choices and cannot make a decision today, that is actually a good thing for you, the relationship builder and list builder.

You would rather they NOT make a decision today, because tonight they will read an email you sent them after they visited your site, and they will go back to your web site because you tell them to in the email. You really like the competition you know that only about 1% of people buy on that first pass anyway so if you are building a list, you can keep hitting them up for a long time after the other 99 have decided to quit surfing and go without today.

How To Create Squeeze Pages That Convert Up To Fifty Percent

Let me ask you a very important question. Do you know the
statistic as to how many visitors your squeeze page will
convert into subscribers? The reason I ask this is that
when I first started out with my internet marketing
business I could only get five to ten percent of my
visitors to subscribe to my newsletter.

This is a very important statistic. Let us look at why. The
main aim of any internet business is to build a very big
list that you can market to over and over again. So if you
send a hundred visitors to your website then you will be
wasting a lot of traffic if your squeeze page only converts
at five percent. If you improve this to fifty percent then
you will get fifty subscribers for every hundred visitors
that you send to that specific squeeze page. This is a much
better return on investment than five percent.

I am going to share with you some tips that have helped me
to create squeeze pages that convert up to fifty percent.

The most important part of your squeeze page is to create
an attention grabbing headline. This element will have the
most impact and I suggest that you test different headlines
to determine which is the most effective.

The layout of your squeeze page. For example where you
locate your subscription box will be very important. The more
prominent it is the more likely people will enter their
details. It also helps to include a real testimonial using
audio and video which will eliminate any doubt from the
prospect and improve your conversion.

Once you apply these tactics into your business you will
experience a major improvement in your results.

Best List Building - Advance Fast in List Building

List building is how I have built my full time business online. Wait, you say, but I read in the other article that you said it is article marketing! I am not pulling your leg herebut I cannot have one without the other.

Oh, dont get me wrong if you took one away from me, I know enough now that I would find another way to get the job done!

But you see, the article marketing is the first step it gets them to me. Then the list building gets them to me again and again.

Think about it today I will end up with about 150 new, unique visitors, 50 of whom will join my list (it might be a little more, depending on where the come in..but that is ok). But I have will have generated around 1000+ views to my web pages when today is over how? I send my list members to my pages.

So my system works like this: 1) you come to my list via article marketing. 2) You come to my sales pages and instructional pages and coaching program only by invitation from my list.

It is really related to my formula for success online: traffic times conversions times price equals success, equals the exact amount of money you make online.

And article marketing is the fuel for my system, and list building is the high octane boost I put in the system. I cannot have one without the other of course, it is the system that works, not just the article marketing or the list building.

So if article marketing goes away tomorrow I will replace that fuel with something else and if list building goes away, the same but for today I am article marketing and list building.
